Air Compresor

Default Air Compresor

Planning on buying an air compresor for my garage but I'm not sure which size...(PSI, HP,Gallons)should Ibuy in order to remove the lug nuts in my 98 Dodge Ram 1500 and other 2cars. Any suggestions?.........[sm=confused06.gif]

Ram 1500 specs 135ft.lb torque on the lug nuts if that helps. Lug nut torque for cars will be lower, usually 115ft.lb or less on mopar stuff. So you want something strong enough to break loose those 135 ft.lb lugs on the Ram. As far as the actual compressor specs though, I am without clue [&o]

i've got a 5hp/60 gal and i wish i would have gone bigger as the impacts i have use alot of air(cfm)
the higher the cfm@90psi the better recovery/filling the tank up and the longer you can use the tools
look at the tools rating and see what it recommends then go higher on the compressor
cheap impacts will use around 5-6 cfm and little power
the two i have are a mac/ingersoll rand clone and an actual ingersoll 244a andtheylives up to the nut buster promise if you have the air supply
