Default tire recommendations for '05 Ram 2500

I need more clearance on my truck. Is it possible to get a taller (has to be a 10 ply) tire than the 265/70 R17 without lifting my truck? If not how much lift do I need? I don't want it to be huge, but I catch my diff's in a few places on the ranch.
Sounds like there's a lot of you who savvy this stuff more than me[sm=feedback.gif] I use this truck to pull quite a bit, so I don't want it to be too high either.
Thanks!

you should be able to fit 285/70r17's. if you wanted to you could lift your truck 3 inches or so and you could fit some 35's without comprimising your load capacity too much...
