Default 50 series tires for stock wheels

How wide are the stock 17 wheels on the 2006 SXT and what is the largest 50 series tires you can put on them?

Oooops sorry. It's a '06 Magnum SXT witht the standard 17" wheels. It came with P215 65R17 tires but I want to put either 50 or 55 series tires on them. Maybe P225 or P235. Just not sure how wide the wheels are and how big I can go.

Haha, no problem. Those wheels are 17x7 from what I can tell. It's going to be really tough to get a 50 series tire with an appropriate diameter on those wheels. A 235/55 or 235/50 will both fit on the wheel with no problem, but would be 1 or 2 inches shorter respectively and would have lower load capacities than the standard tire. So you would want to be sure that you were still meeting the Gross Axle Weight ratings for your vehicle. 255/50-18 is keeps your diameter perfect, and actually would fit the wheel, but might rub on the fenders.
