Default 20" Tires

I'm going to be installing LT285/55R20 (BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T KO tires on my stock 20x9 wheels on my 2005 Ram 1500 Q/C 4x4.

But what is this size in inches? Is it equivalent to 33"x11.5" or what? I'm basically looking for a taller and wider tire that will not interfer with suspension travel and turning radius. Can I go any higher/wider?

Also them stock Wrangler HP tires are good for garbage. I can not believe that Dodge would put crappy tires on a $35,000+ off road pick up truck. I got 3 flats in a row after I received my truck.

Thanks,

Default RE: 20" Tires

the bfg's are 33x11.5

i wouldnt go any higher, u might get away w/ a bit wider, some guys are running 305/55/20's and they are closer to a 12.5 wide tire. But i hear its a tight squeeze.

id like to have the 285 bfg's also, but not for ~300 a piece[:@] i think im going to put cooper discoverer st's on mine in the 275/60/20. not really much out there in an a/t tire thats not way overpriced!

The BFG's A/T tires are the best tire for up here anyway. I'll contact a shop before I make my final decision on the size.

It's -20C below right now. We've had a really (way above average warmer) spring, summer and fall. Now we're back to our normal temp for this season.

Happy trucking from Cambridge Bay, Nunavut
