Barely Driven Dodge Demon Sold at Auction
The Demon blazed in and out of our lives about as fast as it does the quarter-mile. But this barely-used example gave someone a second chance.
Used Market
The Dodge Demon is easily one of the craziest factory-built cars in history. A purpose built drag racing machine designed to blaze the quarter-mile in insanely low times. But since the Demon sold out almost immediately, we're left buying used examples like this one that recently crossed the block at Mecum Auctions.

Fresh as It Gets
With just 27 miles on the clock, you won't find many examples that are closer to being brand new than this one, that's for sure. And judging by how it looks, we doubt the previous owner racked up any of those miles a quarter at a time.

Demon in a Crate
This particular car does, however, come with the Demon Crate option. Which in all fairness, all of them should have. But who knows, maybe one buyer out there was silly enough not to pay the extra buck for it?

Investment Buy
Everything's in place as well, including the seat plastic and all of that stuff you typically peel off as soon as you get your new ride home. Clearly, someone bought this as an investment, as many of them probably were.

Tidy Profit
With a selling price of $110,000, the seller likely accomplished that goal as well. Unless they also bought it from someone else, second hand. Otherwise, not a bad profit for around a year's wait.

Strange Practice
We obviously don't condone sitting on cars as special as the Demon and never driving them, of course. And we'd personally find it impossible not to plant our foot on the gas and enjoy that slingshot acceleration, time and time again.

Taking Advantage
But, as with any limited edition ride, that's the way it goes. There will always be a handful of people out there willing to pay a premium to get behind the wheel of something like the Demon. And others will undoubtedly take advantage of that fact.

Rare Ride
Few cars in history are as cool and unique as the Demon, too. With 800+ horsepower and the capability of pulling wheelies right out of the box, you don't see manufacturers building stuff like this every day.

Singular Focus
OK, so it isn't like the regular Hellcat or Redeye aren't nearly as special. It's just that they weren't quite built for as specific a reason as the Demon. That singular focus is what makes it so special.

Pay to Play
Whether or not we ever see another Demon, well, it's hard to say. So for now, those who want to get behind the wheel must keep their eyes peeled for used examples like this one. Just be ready to pay for that privilege, too.
