I have the inner tie rods disconnected and the rack unbolted fron the frame but im not sure how to undo the lingage to the steering shaft. I removed a bolt but it doesnt seem to wanna come off. Does anyone have any helpfull input?

Well... I can't give you much help.. never did it myself... But I'll tell you this... It would have been a good idea to look into it before you started doing anything... nothin sucks more then starting a project just to find out you don't have all the tools... the time... the know-how... But hopefully someone may have a solution for you....

DONT HAVE TO MUCH FUN!! I replaced mine already and it sucked!! make sure not to turn the sterring wheel once you remove the shaft from the rack or else your alignment well be all jacked up! Get an alignment as soon as possible because your toe setting is going to be out no matter what!

I'm sure you already have a new setup waiting to go in but i happen to have a complete used one for sale cheap. Just throwing out the info just in case.
It came off my truck when i switched to the Saginawsteering box and a traditional steering arrangement.
