Default Brand new flexplate broke.

Put a transmission in my truck in december. Took forvever to figure out which one i needed. Think i may have gone with the atp brand but not sure and parts store apparently dorsnt keep records. Pretty ****ed now.

oem only. fckn oem only.

Ok so 2 questions:

1) What could i have done wrong besides buying non oem?

2) Can i get away with driving in town for a week? What damage could happen if i do?

fml.

Opps. Frankentruck.

engine is 1996 5.9 v8 gas magnum
tranny is 1994 46rh

Torque convertor(94) has weights not the flexplate(94).

i just ordered a new oem one. The pioneer didnt last 1000mi.

wondering if new starter took it out but the f/p was a bit tweaked out of the box. I thought it would be ok but maybe not.

disregard the 11" / 15" question. I think parts guy was looking at wrong truck.

If the new one was already tweaked, that may be the problem.....

Does anyone know where to find an 'SFI' rated flexplate for the 5.9 v8 gas magnum engine? Seems like the only sfi are for diesel.

Not seein' many options there, and nothing that is SFI rated..... Only a couple aftermarket manufacturers..... If I had to hazard a guess, I would think the ATP unit would be at least decent.

Oh, i thought the ATP was cheaper than pioneer. I found a new OEM one but was hoping to find better.

X2, I never had an issue with flex plates other than one time the trans bolts backed out and cause the trans to come apart from the the motor at the top. It was to much flex and cracked the plate.

I used 2 ATP flex plates on a 98 ZJ and a 95 XJ both were still on them when sold a few years later.
