RE: 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Power Bulge Hood
Was curious...is the power buldge the same as the FACTORY srt-10 hood?...I have called around (wanting to add the SRT-10 Hood to my truck 02 ram).. Iv gotten so many different responces (from dodge DEALERS)its not even funny!!!..I have two different part numbers (mopar) one is the 5029419AE..this is the power buldge non functional ram air hood that is supposed to ONLY fit 04-05..then there is a 82208702..which is supposed to fit 02-05 ram 1500..and is a functional ram air hood (unlike production srt-10 hoods?!?!)...so which one of theses do you think I should go with?...not much of a price difference..but the 502 part number is just the hood (I dont know If I have to buy the scoop separately??)...and the 802 part number is a full kit(intergrated scoop with the snap in piece)?...some help please........[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Well men,
There are in fact 2 different hoods available from Dodge that look fantastic. The first one is the same hood you've seen on the HemiSport. It has a nice looking power bulge - BUT - there are no holes in the scoop. If you look close the grill is closed off and just for show.
The other hood is the SRT-10 hood. It is "functional" only for the fact that it lets air into the engine compartment (for cooling?) by the little grill being real. I have one on my 04Hemi and it looks awesome. I'm only disappointed by the fact that I can't seem to find a RAM AIR kit to make it really functional.
This truck puts a smile on my face every day!!

RE: 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Power Bulge Hood
OK, I purchased the functional SRT-10 Hood from a local dealer. Functional meaning air does flow through the factory honeycomb grill inside the hood scoop. Yes, the hood does fit. I went one step further and designed my own billet grill and weather shield for the hood scoop. No tools required for the installation. You can view pictures of my truck posted at: Dodge Truck World. If anyone is interested in seeing what my grill and weather shield looks like, email me at: kamaki8@hawaii.rr.com. Send me your email address, I'll then send you the pictures.

Ok for all you guys out there wanting ram air intake with a functional hood. I went through this **** a million times and could never figure it out. Here is what you need...... Buy the hood if you want but you dont need one that is functional and if you get the bulge srt 10 hood here is what you do..... move your lower driving lights unless you dont have any.... the empty holes provide you with a perfect pvc route straight to the air box. I recomend this pvc work with a k&n 63 series intake with the largest filter.... the filter looks like a huge oval pyrimid....if you would like a picture email me at bad_boy_bikes@yahoo.com...... anyway once you have your resonator replacement kit.... run the pvc pipes over your wheel well and straight into your closed air box.....you only need one side but if you want to do both the otherside is just as easy..... there is a ton of room in the engine compartment to run the pvc from the far side. make sure you screen the holes in the bumper and the holes you make in the air box....... I am no mechanic but im fuggin badass at makin **** .... as far as aluminum foil and metal piping screw all that..... all metal does is get hot....remember plasic makes it possible....just for reference ..... if you get the 63 series resonator replecement kit....... you will beat all stock gt mustangs sticks or automatics... stay tuned to beat the cobras
