Transmission compatibilty : 1990 3.9L = 1992 3.9L ???
I have a 1990 3.9L v6 Dakota with a rebuilt tranny with an unhealthy engine and a nicer 1992 3.9L v6 Dakota with a failing transmission. Does anyone know for certain if its possible to pull the 1990 transmission and pop it the 1992 Dakota with little to zero adjustments? Do those models have the same mount points / bolt mounts?

Awesome! That is good to hear. I can save a little money now. I'll have a left over 1990 dodge with a failing engine & tranny. And one 1992 thats up to par.
Anyone in the DFW area of TX interested in a 'free' 1990 dakota if you swap the trannys for me? I'll have to post pictures of it soon. The 1990 has a dented front bumper and driver side fender. The bed of the truck is an extended bed and its in good shape (other than a .44 cal bullet hole[don't ask]). Feel free to message me if you're seriously interested.

As far as I know it is almost the same the only difference is the 93 has a 42rh which is electronic controled od and torque converter clutch. Here is an artical about the a518 to 46rh. Which is the same as the a500 to 42rh. It can give you some info. http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/...feature15.html
