I drove around in my 87 K-5 Blazer with no cat converter for about a year, I got pulled over for noise violation since the exhaust ended right there before the cat and all he said was "I have to pull you over since there was complaints, rev your engine for me." "Nice exhaust work, have a nice day." AMAZING!

I tell yeah it does suck but its for good cause and you just wait and see man one day CA emission standards will spread to the rest of the states :P lol
Hey, and not all of us emissions guys are bad, I used to be a manager at the Gateway Clean Air Program doing emissions test here in STL. Great job. Not nearly as strict as CA though, atleast in terms of emissions output standards. Got to drive some unbelievable cars...in fact, you wouldn't believe me if I told you some of the vehicles I've operated on a dynomometer.
