Default Welded cross member?

I just got off the phone with a junkyard and the guy told me that the 4x4 cross member on a 95 dakota is welded to the frame(i.e. not interchangeable).

is this true? can someone verify?

It is not welded on. There are 4 bolts/nuts holding it on each side. I can't count the number of times I've taken mine off.

Here is a spare crossmember I have. This is where the transmission mount sits on. The Crossmember that the TORSION bar keys sit on is welded on.

Yup. I've had the transmission mount crossmember out of my truck too. I remember having fun with it. As always!
