yep im new and looking for a little help on exhaust
i am wanting to get dual exhaust on my 2000 durango 4.7, do they make a stock bumper with duals or just the one that comes out on the right, i don't want uneaven tail pipes.
I don't know about a stock looking bumper with dual exhaust (all 1st gen durangos were single exhaust from factory), but it should be fairly easy to cut a second notch in your bumper
I have a dual exhaust on my D. It's one muffler with 1 inlet 2 outlets. So it's not a TRUE dual exhaust(2 mufflers) but it looks sweet. I didn't even have to remove the spare tire... Just took some modifying. Looks great to! If you want I can post a pic..
Just got mine redone this past weekend. Got a flowmaster muffler and dual pipes. Two racing industries for the pipes. Looks identical to what i had before but sounds much louder. I was starting to get annoyed by the hole in my muffler
The only way to do a single O2 sensor on the rear is to install a X pipe and place the sensor in the middle. But even then you would not have a "True" dual exhaust, but you would pass emissions and the truck would run correctly. Other then that, if you had true duals you would only have the after CAT O2 sensor on one pipe.
thanks for the info. i ment to say duals as dual tipes single muffler im going to body shop saturday morning to have them look at it and see if my bumper can be modified. i like the way the single pipe sits up inside the bumper and curves downward.
I had took mine to a muffler shop recently. I wanted true duels on mine with the CA emissions, I wouldnt be able to LEGALLY pull it off. But anyway, the other problem I would have is the spare tire. They wouldn't install the second pipe on the drivers side unless I took it out (I also have a tow hitch in the way I wasnt willing to part with). I was told my only other option was the two pipes out of the passenger side that really did not have any more advantage than a single pipe.
