Wow that was fast...thank you again.

I hope I can make heads or tails from the schematics, electrical isn't my strong suit.
From what I can see the 2 nuts on the back of the alt.are connected together by the ring that houses the diodes, main battery connection included.Meaning it seems all 3 connections are all one in the same.
Hopefully it will work because I've got a business to run next week and can't afford down time, and it will take a week to get another PCM(ECU your choice),besides the 300 bux it'll cost me.

Ok read up on charging system, but still can't tell if the external regulator conversion will work on my truck.
Maybe someone here that knows will maybe be able to shed a little light on this for me.

Any and all help greatly appreciated!!!!

Download a service manual from the 2nd gen section and compare the 2 system to see how close they are.

Ask your question in the correct section (3rd gen ram). Someone over there might have more info you can use.

I did check the voltage with the key on(motor off)and all 3 connections on the alt. have 12v on them, the main Batt. connection and both nuts of the fields.
Another post on this thread said one field should have voltage and the other should not.If mine has voltage on all 3 including the main batt. wire,I guess this external regulator mod I'm trying to do is for naught, and can't be done on the gen 3 Rams.

I'm still just guessing here.
