brightest reverse bulbs?
I hate not being able to see behind me at night when backing up. I have had aux LED or incand lights as a second set of back up lights, but they are usually in the way when doing stuff round the back of the truck. So I am wondering if there is a bright bulb that I can put in the reverse lamp socket that won't draw too many amps for the wiring and system. I do not want to burn out my reverse switch or blow fuses.

relay. put the backup lights on relays. makes a noticeable difference. i had to put my backup lights on relays since i installed auxiliary backup light and stock wiring would not be good enough. now i do find that rectangular lights seem to be able to throw there light farther.

^backup lights are no good if you have to get out and flip them down.
you could bolt them to the frame or cross member under the box and setup the lights a bit like rock lights. the light on my 81 are bolted to the frame right by the leaf spring so it would be pretty hard to smash it.
here the backup light setup i use to have on the 81. i think i bolted them to the cross member that the spare tire is supposed to be bolted to.
here is what they looked like lighting things up at night.

Those do look like they are in a pretty good place, but here is NM when off road we have to drive over bushes and prarie grasses that would tear them off or at least damage them. On my trucks I have always put them on the back face of the back bumper and the only issue there is if you hit them with your knee if you aren't paying attention. They work great there for back up lights.
