Monroe shock rebate @ Rockauto, Buy 4, Get 1 Free
If you are planning to buy a set of Monroe or Rancho shocks and struts soon, now is the time. Monroe is offering a buy 4 get the cost of one back as a rebate deal thru Oct 31. It's good on Reflex, SensaTrac, Gas Magnum, Rancho, and Rancho lift shocks. The rebate form is on RockAuto.com; just click on the promotions and rebates button.
The Rancho's for the front, part #RS5757 are available. You need to look at 2005 Dakota menu and you can see the front struts are available, with the rebate. I remembered when I ordered mine that I had to order it from the 2005 menu.
FYI
Front Rancho Strut part # RS5757.
Rear Rancho shock absorber part # RS5315. (Don't know the Monroe part #'s.)

Yeah, the Rancho struts for the fronts (RS5757) on our Dakotas are not available from Rockauto. Makes a lot of sense, huh?
But if you're going with Monroe, not a bad deal.

honestly the shocks in the back really made no difference in the ride of my truck. I replaced them because they were the cheaper of the two (my truck only has 50k miles, so I don't know if they even needed to be replaced, but did anyway...lol). It's the fronts that need to be replaced and I can tell that because there is one bridge I have to cross over every day coming home from work and if I'm not in the correct lane when I hit the end of the bridge, my truck will porpoise for like a 1/4 mile after I hit it (going 70 mph), sometimes it almost takes the wheel from my hand if I'm not holding on, so I know there is something weak up there....maybe I need a General Lee instead...lol

I definitely needed the front struts, the bounce was dangerous at times. I figured to get the rear shocks at the same time, probably didn't need them, but got em anyway.
If 2 of you guys need the front struts, pair up and order 4 front struts for a good deal. Or streetsideauto.c0m has the fronts for $103 a piece, thats where I got mine (using 2005 dakota menu) from with free shipping.
