Which radiator ?
Me again, well time for a new radiator, just replaced the front hubs, now rad it blew on me, I had to roll up and laugh about it. This is after shelling out for a front diff also, all this in the space of 3 months or so, looks like I am trying to catch up on the last owners neglect.
So, may seem like a dumb ? but which rad do I order ?, this is a 2003 5.9 slt +, with heavy duty cooling and auxiliary trans cooler, the radiator looks to only have a single core, and the tranny cooler looks to be bolted to it , but everything I read points to a dual core. What do I buy, I would have liked to post pics but my camera took a dump.
Running now with stop leak in, so I know I will have to do a major flush, will also replace the cap and thermostat, hoses are fine.
Also, which thermostat would be best, I live in S,Florida, and I never do any towing, thanks, Neil.

The OEM radiator is actually a 2 row (core) radiator. Consitering you know you have the external trans cooler style just pick up the OEM style as you indicated in your post. It's about $220 at your local parts store or on line.
The OEM is actually a 2 row, aluminum, with plastic caps. They will work fine for what you shoud throw at it.

Personally on mine, I got about the same MPGs when I replaced mine with a 180* T-stat. If anything I gained 1 or 2 on the highway or when I make long distance trips.
I can agree though either 180* or 195*. Personally I believe the 160* that is available is just too low and can cause problems in the future.

The stock is 195, when I replaced mine to another 195 though my temp dropped about 20 degrees from before to around 190 now so if yours is pretty gunked up you'll notice a big difference.
Either way I don't see 15 degrees being a big difference in engine temp, it just depends on what kind of load you put on your engine. I do agree fully on the 4.7 working better with a 180 t-stat because that engine is just about maxed out on squeezing all the power you can get from it so it usually runs on high loads and creats a lot of heat.
