Default NGC question

i went to a dodge dealership today and asked about getting my r/t reflashed. He said it makes the car drive better and the software updates are just a good thing to do. I've always wanted a performance chip though. Do i have to reflash my car before getting a chip or can i reflash it and down the line get a chip put in. Does the NGC prevent a chip from being put in unless you reflash it?

A chip won't do anything either way. I just can't stand Dodge and all of these "updates" they have to perform to get the cars to run correctly.

i would only have your r/t reflashed if you have all kinds of engine mods like I do and Im doing a turbo setup soon also . Chips are crap in 4 cylinders all other cylinders they do well in.

-What are these flashes for? I saw on the computer or module by the radiator on mine, it says something like "software version 05/2005." Or at least something close to that. Are there newer updates for this?

Yes indeed well worth it not much for having your 03-05 updated actually reflashed.

Your VIN needs to be run to check for an update. Cost depends on the place.

So my 04 Neon, does anyone here have the ability to check if it has a PCM update available / due?

Edit: removed the vin.
