2000 was different that 1994.

I believe 94 was 2.5" pipe. Does it appear to neck down at all, or is the pipe straight? Dodge did not use a 2.25" pipe on the 2nd gen Ram in any year I am aware of.

Cut a 2.5 inch circle out of an old pizza box. hold it behind the pipe and see if you can make it disappear. If it did, you have 2.5 or bigger. If you can see a significant amount of hangover (depends on how accurate you cut) you have a smaller pipe.

On the 97's behind the cat housing is 2.5". Before the cat housing is 2.25".

IIRC, the change was 98 on the piping, correct?

I believe so, and in 2001, they went to 3" with 2.5 neckdowns at the cat and muffler so they could use up all the back stock, LOL.
