My front drive line on my 1500. The bolts are tight as hell and my drive line is spinning. I'm trying to pull my t case but I can't figure out how to pop these bolts off. Anyone got a idea? I need to get inside my diff anyway so this is me gutting my truck.

Are you referring to the bolts that connect the front driveshaft to the transfer case? If so, on my '96 Ram 2500 4x4, I believe I used a 5/8" six point (3/8" drive) impact universal socket to remove them, along with my impact wrench and a long extension.

You're gonna have to move the driveshaft (with tcase in 2wd/neutral) to a position where you can get a wrench on a bolt. Then reach in the cab and put the tcase in 4hi/lo. Get back under the truck and loosen the bolt. Repeat process for remaining bolts.

Having fun yet?
It's easier if ya got a buddy to shift the tcase for you.

T case is literally in pieces on the inside. I blew it up. Same with my transmission. I need to drop the t case lol.
Any other ideas?

Yeah, that'll make it more of a challenge.

Do you have a large pipe wrench that can be put on the DS and be wedged?

Also, it might take some work and potential of bolt breaking, but opening up the CAD plate and manually pushing the shift fork over. This might be easier if you have the passenger side up on a floor jack so you can spin the tire slightly to move the fork over. Alot of ppl report breaking the bolts holding the CAD plate on so get some penetrating fluid on them beforehand.

what about sticking a big screwdriver or punch through the front drive shaft u-joint and rotating until it hits the frame or body or something to hold it.

That's not a bad idea.
I'll try that when I get home.
