Default Fog Light Retrofit

As some of you may know, trucks that did not come with fog lights from the factory came without fog light mounts and wiring. The fog light holes in these trucks were also substantially smaller than those with fog lights. Before knowing this i bought a set of fog lights and was determined to make them work. Some minor modifications and here ya go:

1. Fog light next to hole where it must go:

2. Light fixture cut with hacksaw to accommodate the fog light in the housing:

3. Fog light in housing:

4. Fog light in housing in bumper: (used standard bolts to mount)

5. Again:

6. Finish Product: (the fog light bulbs are hyper white, making the headlights appear dim)

Feel free to comment/ask questions.

Looks nice. Fog lights are too bright though.

I've been wanting to do that mod myself. Where did you get the lights?

I forget the vendor honestly. I bought them about three months ago haha. All i can tell you is that they are OEM style fog lights.

If you go on eBay and search carefully, you can find the nice kits with glass and metal housings. Thats what I did, mine are not factory. And I didn't have to cut my plastic inserts either, they fit right in there, and I mounted them to the inserts themselves.

Thanks, Jason.

Blue, probably still one insert and then they remove material for the fog light option.

correct me if im wrong, but if that connects to the high/lo beam switch ( the switch in the cab next to OD) those would be driving lamps, and the fog lights would actually be on a seperate switch and go into the square holes???? sorry for being mr. technical.. im really bored at home.. haha

To my knowledge, Chrysler never used rectangular fogs on these trucks. Look at my sig though, the lamp I have there is actually a driving light. However Hella makes the identical housing with a fog lens. They fit great in there.
