Have to order the full driveshaft with it???? Someone at the parts store is confused. It's bolts to the end of the pinion gear...... a u-joint hooks into it..... even a brand new driveshaft wouldn't come with it....... I would try a different parts store, and make sure the person you talk to has a clue....
For temporary though, drill it out, use a longer bolt, and nut. Spin it a few times to make sure it isn't going to hit anything. Order up the pinion yoke.

Agreed for the time being since you said get the wife to work ASAP, get a full bolt and nut on there to lock it down.
For the pinion yoke, are we talking about the one in your profile, 99 2500 Diesel?
Gotta know which yoke is yours --

Put up some pictures?
You are in Missouri?
Slap the parts guy for saying to get a whole new driveshaft, then drop kick him all the way to where the truck is sitting for him to look at it. lol

Yes WK is correct we need a little more info to really help you out.
What size u-joint do you have? That matters. Spline count on your yoke is important too. The one I have is for a 1350 u-joint as that is the size I am using on my Jeep.
We are all here to help just give us some more info.
One other thought, you could pull the yoke and take it to a machine shop and have them drill it out just a little bit and then run u-bolts instead of straps
