Manually kicking out if OD lockup
I have a 94 5.9 L auto 65k miles and it had 265 75 16s on it with 3.55s in the rear and I live in very mountainous terrain and when it's in OD lockup there is not a whole lots of power. But if you gradually press the throttle when climbing a hill it won't kick out if lock up. It will get to half pedal then go into 3rd. If your very light on the throttle then hit it quickly alittle it will kick into regular OD not in lock up which is where I want it for those bigger hills on the highway. Well I found out that if u tap the brake pedal a tiny bit. Not enough to affect anything. It will actually kick out of lockup right away and stay in OD . Is this bad to do. is it going to hurt anything. There much be a sensor as soon as u touch the brake it comes out of lock up

Tapping the brake will always take it out of lock-up unless there are bigger issues. There is no issue with doing that (other than brake wear). In fact, you could tap it with your left foot while keeping your right foot on the gas.
However, as stated, in very hilly areas it is better to take the gas mileage hit and save teh wear and tear on the tranny. Hopping in and out of lock-up is hard on the trans (and the TC).

Plenuem is good. And that's what id I just tap with the other foot. Not enough to slow anything just to kick it out and the rpms are like 1500ish on the highway at 55. There's not much power there. Alittle tap brings it up out of lockup to keep good speed. If I don't want it lugging real bad trying to pick up speed in lockup. And I don't want it going way down to 3rd then when it gets back to speed to OD then OD lockup. I'm kinda saving it a shift actually. I didn't know if it was bad for it or
