If the trans works manually, it's definitely an electrical/sensor error. So just to clarify your starting in 3rd, leaving you with only 3-4 shift then converter lock-up?
This might be a dumb question but what is converter lock up and how do I tell?
There were some differences in the sensors, and how they mounted as well. I do not know if just changing the retainer clip for them is adequate to the task.... if you used the 98 version, then chances are, the pressure sensor (I think) isn't seated completely, so, gets erroneous readings....
I can't find part numbers, but, apparently, the valve body DID change from 99 to 00..... I know ya don't wanna hear it... but, you may have to dive in there again, and see if the sensor mounts are different..... I just don't know.

Our transmission have a locking torque converter. Provides for a direct mechanical connection from engine to trans input shaft. (no slipping, better gas mileage.) When TCC locks/unlocks, engine RPM should change by about 200 or so RPM.
I think HeyYou is onto something with that sensor not being seated all the way... And a function trans will shift 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, torque converter lock-up.
That's last "shift" into torque converter lock-up will happen right after 3-4, and will only drop RPM by about 200 like stated.
Ok thanks for all the imput. I guess tomorrow I'll tear into it again and switch out the base that the sensors sit in or make sure they are seated correctly.
