ABS LIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT STAY ON. NO SPEEDOMETER OR ODOMETER
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2 liter. The ABS light stays on along with the Brake light. The speedometer stopped working along with the odometer and cruise control. I think it would be the ABS speed sensor on the rear differential, but I am not positive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Question.
I have a 97 2500 turbo diesel, and the ABS and BRAKE lights are on, but everything else works. Cruise works, spedo works, etc.
Would that still be a speed sensor in the rear?
I check the ECU with the cheapo tester from autozone, said no codes.
I'm stumped.

My ABS and brake lights are on too. And my speedometer is 5 mph too slow. I just got the truck from my uncle and he said it was because the tires were 265's instead of 245's. Now I'm not so sure. Could it be because I live down a rough road. Somebody tell me how to fix this please!

You do have an ABS sensor in your rear end though. That could indeed be the cause of your troubles.
And if I remember right, ABS codes are only readable by the dealer on most models.

Wow, same problem with my '98. No speedo until 20, then it works and the brake/abs light is on full time. Dang glad I checked out this forum. Already finding out some dang good stuff and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet!! Guess I need to make a trip to the dealer tomorrow...

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport magnum v8 2 wheel drive. Abs light, brake light, check engine light on speedomoter did not work at all. Unhooked negative battery to reset codes replaced rear abs speed sensor on top of rear end housing, Oreilly auto parts $29.99 , all lights went off speedomoter back to normal thanks to all on this forum
