Just purchased a 2003 Ram 2500 Diesel, the owner before me install a set of Sonar SK3302 headlights and I'm having trouble with the right side it will stay on for around 5 to 10 minuets then go out I don't have the wiring instructions for the lights so not sure where to start on the trouble shooting any help would be welcome,
Thanks
It has a separate toggle switch to turn off and on without the headlight switch, I've tried swapping the ballast from the left side to right and it still cut off after a few minutes.
No I don't have it figured out just was trying to eliminate that part I guess the next item to swap would be the voltage regulator if that's what its called just shooting in the dark here.
If you have anymore suggestions please let me hear them .
Thanks
If you swapped both the bulb and ballast from the working side to the non working side and you have the known working parts still cutting off, then you have a connection issue somewhere in your wiring.
No one is going to be able to tell you where. Youre going to have to track it down
Your correct on that, I was just fishing to see if I was on the right track and maybe some one had installed these light on there truck, what I would really like is the wiring instructions for these lights. I really do appreciate your input.
Not a problem. Sorry I can't help more. I know what headlights you're talking about as they are the same as the Recon but I haven't every installed any. If you know your bulb and ballast are good then you have the important part already verified.
One thing you can try, take a volt meter and verify both voltage and ground coming into the ballast while it is on and working and again after it quits to see if you lose either
