Default 2014 durango rt noise

Never heard this before in the truck. Just wondering if this is normal or not. Makes the noise when I push on the brake when in park... Thanks

Mine doesn't make noises like that. Is this when you are about to start it up or is it afterwards?

Reminds me of a CD player trying read a scratched up disc.

It makes it after you start it up and press the brake down. Plus I pumped the brakes for a few times. Kinda started smelling like burning plastic. I had a similar noise in my 2013 dart and it was the tcm going. I had a semi auto stick so it's probably different cause the durango is a ****

You are hearing the solenoid get energized and deenergized as you cycle the brake pedal. It is the solenoid for the shifter ****, a safety device to prevent you from shifting the vehicle, without the brake pedal being pushed down. Hope you didnt burn it up.

So it's supposed to make that noise then. I never heard it or maybe wasn't paying attention. My fiance drives the truck more than me

djv154,

If anything out of the ordinary is noticed, your dealer is a great technical resource at your disposal and possess the necessary training and equipment necessary to address any concerns.

Be sure to notify your dealer during your next service.

Your new D is an Autostick as well, that is what the paddle shifters are for.
