Default Caliper Space

I am looking to go from the stock 20s on the 1500 Sport to an 18 inch Rim. I am looking at a 18x10 rim with -24 offset and 4.56 back spacing and I've been told that they might not fit around the calipers? anyone know about this?

Default Wheel backspacing for caliper fitment

I am looking to change my 20" stock rims off of my 06 ram sport to Moto Metal's 961 18x10 rims with -24 mm offset and 4.56 backspace. would these rims be ok on fitment with calipers? what are opinions on these specs

Default rims fitment

I have a 2008 Ram 1500. I have 20" stock rims and want to put 17" rims on.
I was told that if a Ram comes with 20" stock rims that you can NOT do a smaller rim because of the brakes. is this true or will the 17" rims fit?
I currently have Bilstein leveling shocks (around 2 inches of lift) on the front and the rear is stock height. I an putting in a 2" suspension lift kit next week.
I would like to put on 17" rims with 35 X 12.50 x 17 tires. Will this work?
I am looking at Ultra type 164 It is a 17x9, 4.45 backspace, 5-139, with a -12mm offset.
If this will not work what should I be looking for that will get me close to this set up?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Why not? Beside's everything is listed and I gave a link labeled HERE
follow 9" and -19mm offset gives you 4.25" backspacing.
Those will stick out your fenders a ways. Fitment isn't a problem.

Thank you dirtydog..After looking at the charts and reading over and over I think I finally understand..so for example if I get a 20x10 wheel with a -12 offset I will get a 5" backspace which will leave me with a 4.5" lip and the wheel will stick out about three inches?
