Lifted up my hood tonight and found that my light bulb was out. Could someone please tell me the procedure in removing and replacing the bulb. I have a 2006 Ram 1500.
I believe you need to purchase the whole assembly. It's stupid money at the dealer, $21.95 at Sears and I believe I've seen it for as low as $12 on ebay NIB...
you can replace the bulb itself.. i did it in my old 02.. it does comes apart. kind of a pain.. it is the same light from at least 02 to 06 as i now have an 06 myself.. but it was a while back i replaced it and i dont remember how exactly it came apart or what bulb it takes.. but it does come apart.. i can let u know tomorrow exatly which bulb it is..

Reason: forgot to add something
since when was a service manual ever 100% right. my snowmobile service manual says there is no serviceable parts in the fuel pump but you can buy a rebuild kit for it. the manual mentioned nothing about a rebuild kit. they are in it for the money.
Wait....The 02 - 06 has a underhood lamp. I dont. Please advise. It looks like a light was never there. Am I missing something?? I have an 05 Ram.
Believe it or not it was an option. Although many "packages" included it so most have it. But I've been under the hood of more than a couple Rams that have not had one.
The light (that I pictured above) and the wire loom kit are available all over the place and I've seen the whole package on ebay for around $20. You already have the plug, so it's not a biggie to add it...
