Default 02 ram 1500 suspension question.

I bought an 02 ram 1500 to work out of but the issue is that the front is raised 3 inches with rough country springs and shocks, and the rear has the leafs flipped under the axle to lower it. Aren't the leafs suppose to be on top? How do I flip them back over, with 100 lbs of payload my truck bottoms out in the rear, feels like there is no suspension. I plan on using a 2 inch shackle raise to level it out, just first need to know how to flip the leafs back to stock

When you say flip them over, you do mean to flip them on top of the axle? Or just flip them over. A mechanic said Something about having to remove the axle??? Is he BSing me?

He means put them on top of the axle.

I've installed lifts of one kind or another on about a dozen 3rd Gen 1500's including my old '04. Ain't had to touch an axle when removing or replacing rear leafs yet. I can't fathom any way someone could have installed leafs under the axle that wouldrequire removing the axle to get them off, but then I haven't seen your truck...

Looks to me that they are just bolted against the bottom of the axle with two U bolts for each side. Looks like it's 2 u bolts, the shackle bolt and the other bolt through the frame per each leaf.

The rear of the leafs has a gigantic shackle on it that I will try to use on its lowest setting, if its too high after the flip Ill buy 2 inch lift shackles. The front of the leafs that look like they are bolted through the frame, would get left alone (other than removing them to flip on top of the axle). Where the springs are on the axles there seems to be a block in there, is this normal? Do I do away with the block or is that stock? looks like two U bolts and a plate holding the leafs against the block.

You're basically just going to take the hardware, flip it around and set the leafs on top. Done deal...
