Superchips FlashPaq owners part 3815

RE: Superchips FlashPaq owners part 3815
I just got mine on Thursday, so I am still playing with it.
Very satisfied so far, easy to use although the manual could be a bit better in detail. The flow chart method works ok.
the best feature is the throttle response in any of the tuner modes. What a difference from the stock settings. The tow mode is great, no more hunting for the best gear selection, holds the shift points longer and firmed up the shifts a lot.
In regards to the rev limiter: Mistake to set at 6000 rpms. Normal driving ok. Full throttle acceleration...oops
Engine hits limiter before wide open throttle shift point.
Result: At 6000 rpm rev limited comes on line, engine cuts out, then shifts...EGAD!! Interesting but not effective for continuous acceleration.
So here we are accelerating like mad then bog at the limiter, shifts, engine comes back on line. Good way to check the shoulder harness inertia reel lock up....lol
This is just way too much fun. Now I can punch the throttle from a 10 mph roll and light the tires no problem.
Where is that guy with the Silverado SS I saw the other night?

There is still a speed limiter, but you can set it. Factory is around 105 mph. I've set mine at 130. I also set the rev limiter to the max, 6300. This seems to give me the best overall performance in shift points. Another nice feature is being able to set the tire diameter in 1/4" increments. This is especially nice if you change wheels and tires, or say you have one set for summer and another set for winter. WELL WORTH THE $$$!!!
I ordered mine from http://www.hunterscustom.com/home.htm, but I called them and asked for JR. I was able to buy it for $400 plus $10 shipping. You might also contact some of the sponsors on this site. They may be able to do better on price.
http://www.premiertruckaccessories.com/sup3815.html has it listed for $485, but I'd give them a call. Lots of times, companies will work with you on price.

I got mine from www.colterdistributing.com.
$ 404.00 with 3 day UPS Select shipping. Nice guy, talked to on the phone was very helpful.
Go to Superchips.com and download the pdf file for the 3815 instruction manual.
It is a good investment in my opinion.
Good Luck

Just installed mine yesterday. Very happy with the gains. It holds the shifts longer and gives a much better throttle response. You can definately feel the difference. It's like night and day. I'm still playing around with it, but in my opinion worth every penny

i'm still playing with mine bit so far I like it as well, I feel a difference FOR SURE! I think the rev limiter at 6300 is too high for me, it makes the engine whine too much, i'm at about 6050 now, and still testing, I think it feels much better for my style driving.

I am planning on buying a 2005 Ram 1500 with a hemi and am interested in buying the Superchips Flashpaq #3815. If anybody lives in the metro Detroit area and wants to go in on it with me let me know or we can work something out. My email address is verano1008@yahoo.com

Noone can really go in on it w/ you. There is only one file. Once it is uploaded, it cannot be uploaded again until it is retrieved and the stock file is uploaded back into the truck.
It is a good mod IMO. It no longer drops cylinders on the upshifts, doesn't feel as sluggish out of the hole(the torque management is still there, just not as noticeable), adjustments in tire size, rev limiter and speed limiter are a huge plus as well. Need some 4.56 gears and a set of traction bars and i think I'll be set for a lil while now...Lil while meaning about a month or so.
