Default Seat wear

I have the 2009 Laramie with the heated and air conditioned front seats.

My seat, driver; has already distorted beyond recovery. You can see its streched and also has wrinkles that appear to be set in.
I tried heating it...I tried cooling it. Cleaned it with a damp cloth and tried to smooth by hand.
Seems beyond recovery.
1028 miles.
I weigh 185lbs.

Abybody else seeing this, with this type seat?

I too noticed distortion in the perforated area of my heated seats. Especially where my wallet ( in my right rear jeans pocket) rests against the seat. The seatback also shows distortion where I carry objects in my jacket pockets. I don't use the heated seats much so its not just the heat that's at fault. I've had to purchase a seat seatback support pad which cushions the areas of distortion but this is NOT s solution. I'll likely be headed to the dealer for seat replacement under warrantee soon!

Just got back from leaving my truck at the dealership for the wind noise issue.
Added to my service order to check the abnormal seat wear.
They said humidity was causing it. It will staighten out..... they will look at that too.
I do not think its humidity...mine is stretched.

Mine is also where my wallet plants. Should not be happening.
I have had a load of cars and trucks in my years. Never have I seen this.
Wear, sure....not in one month.
My 1998 Dodge did not have noticable wear anywhere after 11 years.

Used the heater when I bought it to feel it work. Used it again today to see if it would help the seat back into shape...it didn't.

Dodge...Chrysler...is replacing my seat. Ordered it today.

I asked what would be different in the new seat; nothing. "Yours probaly was a bad run of material" Told him (service manager) I posted here and 2 other people chimed in with the same problem in one day.

Be nice and new for another few weeks.

I wrote Chrysler about this too.
Damn tired of it.

Mine's doing the same thing. My jean color is wearing on it when I get in and out of my truck too. How do I clean it to get that blue color off?

Ya, mine did it after like two weeks.... as far as cleaning the grime and color off my seats I used Armoral leather care and it worked very good!

I am thinking about buying a 2009 laramie and was thinking about pulling the trigger. I now have a Tundra double cab 4x4 tss with bucket cloth. I drove the laramie and really liked the truck better than my 08 tundra. I am now thinking this truck might not be worth it. My Tundra has 12000 miles on it and zero problems. I have never owned a dodge because they were always rougher riding and seemed to not hold value. I really like this 09 but sounds like it is just cosmetic but still cheap.

Why do you like the Laramie over the Tundra?

I like the ride so much better. I do not haul much weight in the back and only pull about 5000 pounds at times. The ride and handling of this new ram is definitely better than the Tundra. Noticable. I like my Tundra otherwise. I have had zero problems. Its wierd everyone says the Chevy gets better mileage but my Tundra gets just as good or better than 2 of my fellow workers who bought 08 chevy's. In the dodge the bad roads is still pretty smooth and the driving of this vehicle changing lanes is like a sports car. Its like driving a car but you get your truck. The only thing is quality.
