Trailer plug wiring issue
Can anyone out there help me? I have no power to my left turn signal and left brake light for my trailer plug, i have checked fuses, they are good, i have even traced the wire up to the fuse box (integrated power module) According to the schematic that i have the power runs thru a relay. which is called the trailer tow left turn relay. there is no relay marked as such in the fuse box. where can i find this relay. Has anyone had this problem also? 2004 diesel 2500. thanks

RE: Trailer plug wiring issue
I found this in the manual
The trailer tow relays are located in the Power Distribution
Center (PDC) in the engine compartment near
the battery. Refer to the layout label on the underside
of the PDC cover for specific relay cavity assignment
information. A trailer tow relay cannot be adjusted or
repaired and, if faulty or damaged, the unit must be replacedTrending Topics

trailer plug wiring issue
I am convinced there is no relay for the trailer turn and brake lights.
I have already jumped the left turn signal from the truck light wire to the wire going into the 4 pin connecter because it is easy to find. this backs the signal into the 7 pin and now the trailer turn signals work fine when the trailer is plugged into the 7 pin.
I am thinking about doing the same for the brake signal but i think the only draw back is that both of the truck left tail lights will light when the brake is applied instead of just one. I dont know if that would cause a state inspection problem.
This seems to be a fairly common problem with dodge trucks. Has anyone contacted dodge about a known repair?
I think it is in the splice comming off of the wiring harness but thats hard to get at.
