Default Please help me identify this pipe rusted out, bolts on to waterpump 01 caravan 3.3L

Hello
could someone be kind enough to help me identify the exact name of this steel pipe? It bolts onto the waterpump and the other end connects to a rubber hose going to the radiator. It's rusted out and leaking where it bolts onto the waterpump housing so I have to replace the whole pipe. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

01dodgeCarvan,

That is called the "Water Inlet Tube". I had to replace mine several years ago.

I had to replace mine a couple of years ago. I'd say that anyone living in an area where salt is used should just go ahead and replace it to prevent getting stranded somewhere.

It's a common repair because of corrosion.
I believe RockAuto had it cheaper than the dealer.
I think my dealer changed mine under warranty.

I plan to inspect mine soon, and if I have to replace it i will sand blast it and paint it with POR to keep it from corroding. I don't know if a stainless version is available.

I think there is an o-ring gasket on the pump end.

what would be the effects of using rubber to reduce corrosion?

What size is the diameter of pipe if rubber could be used?
