I have a 2003 caravan first i got the 0442 code and I replace the gas cap and now im getting the major leak code. i need to change the LPD valve. does any one where and how to replace it. and how much the part is from the dealer? it this a dealer only item because local places dont carry it

 

Don't know about valave, will research it though. Did you reset cpu by disconnecting battery to clear previous code before resarting vehicle after replacing fuel cap?

 

yes I did ! From what research that i found on this board, they ssay replace the LDP valve. I cannot find it on the van. can someone help me with a part description. 2003 caravan with flex fuel and a 3.3

 

I think this code has to be reset with a scanner or with so many key-on cycles. #7 is what the pump is supposed to look like? It may be near the vapor canister #3? Dealer only item and lists for around $115...you can get it cheaper on the web at www.makeitmopar.com

The LDP is located behind the left sway bar bushing. Usually when these fail it will set a p0440 general evap failure code. With a large leak code you may have a split hose. Try checking the hoses at the canister.

 

Before you buy anything, check with your stealership to make 100%
sure your problem isn't covered with federal laws.

I had a older Dodge pick up that the stealership said it needed a new
complete charcoal filter system and I don't remember what the price
they told me it was going to cost..

I thought I'd try and save some money and went to NAPA to get one.
NAPA said they would gladly sell me one BUT if I had less than 50K on
the truck, it was a stealership FREE replacement..

When I went back to the stealership and told them I needed it replaced,
they had a BIG grin on their faces UNTILL I told the #astards it was 100%
covered! They replaced it and sent me on my way, FREE!
