Default 2014 Dart GT

Hey folks and folkettes. We very close to buying a 2014 Dart GT, 2.4 Litre - 6 speed auto, with almost all the bells and whistles you can get. Have any of you had any trouble with the 2.4L or tranny issues?
We have a '08 Elantra GLS been a great little car, do not like the new version of the Elantra. Seen lots of video reviews and so on about the Dart. But to the Owners of Darts, So Far, do you like your Dart. Would you do anything different now that you been an owner for awhile. We usually keep our vehicles long..

1998 Ram quad -- 14 years.
2001 Neon - 9 years
1992 Plymouth Acclaim 9 years

will this Dart be a good vehicle for long term?

Any help or advise is appreciated

Cheers

We have a '13 Dart 1.4T... on issues, and we love it.
We traded from a '00 Neon after 13yrs of great service.
I don't think anyone can comment on the longevity of Darts yet.
We'd buy a second Dart in a heart beat, and may do so if a 2.4T GT/SRT/??? comes along.

'98 Ram (in Sig/profile) 16yrs.

Default thanks

Thanks Spillage, we just finalized the deal over the phone about 20 minutes ago. Yes we did test drive the car.
But we talked it over on the way home yesterday, starting texting with them and then the phone call and made the deal that we and they were happy.

cheers

Talking GT weeeeeeee

Thanks DodgeCA cares.

We picked up our Dart GT on Monday afternoon. It's a 2 hour drive to get home. We have dealers near us, but this place in the Annapolis Valley treats us well. I can only say in the very short term is, Wow. I did all the researching I could find, and all things lead us to the Dart GT 2.4L. With the 6 speed and lower final drive ratio working together it's fun to drive on the twisty turns or highway. I'm not sure why some reviewers dump on this car.

On roads with 50- -80 kph speeds limits, the trip computer was showing 6.5 litres/100km or 43 mpg Imp.. I know that it's not perfect readings, but we would get the same from the Elantra on the same roads, and this car is heavier, larger motor, and lower axle ratio.

The car tracks like a laser on all surfaces with it's 18" alloys. Very stable on the highways. Half way home I said to my Mrs. "It feels like a large car". We have a Ram so we know what large feels lol.

A very solid feeling car. It buttons down on the road and goes.

cheers
kayakman.

oh did I say I liked the car.....
