Default Upgrade my truck to have a tow package

I just picket up a 2500 Cummins 6 speed manual that didn’t originally come with the tow package. Is there a wire pigtail for the trailer hookup I can get from Dodge to add this option? I am talking about the one that allows you to use a brake controller in the cab. It has a 4 wire standard trailer plug for small trailers. It has an aftermarket receiver on it already. Is there any thing else that would need to be added to make it the same as the factory tow package?

Thanks for you input

Matt

there is a wiring package that you can buy from the dealer that will plug into the 4 flat and covert it to 7 round, then just run the 2 wires up to the front and connect one to the battery and the other inside the cab for brake controller. There's some other work that will need to be done under the dash to get the brake controller wired up. but that should answer your question, i think lol

So dose that mean the wiring is not already there in some fashion and I can’t gust plug in a factory harness? I was hoping that they didn’t run completely different wiring harness depending on weather or not it had the tow package.

What other things were included in the tow package on the manual transmission?

im suprised your truck doesn't have a tow package. a 2500 without a tow package seems useless?

Yeah, That's like my Dually coming with the "BABY" mirrors instead of the Towing Fold-Out Mirrors. Can't see a darn thing behind those hips...These trucks should have towing packages standard equipment and duallys should have towing mirrors standard also...

Man, i cant imagine rollin a dually without the tow mirrors. I switched out my little mirrors on my little 1500, couldn't stand them on it while towing, let alone towing what a dually could.
