The speedometer won't work i replaced the speed sensor but it still won't work, will clean the connector to see if that helps. This is my work van i have 269995 miles on it. have had this problem for almost a month i use it to do A/C service.
1. Does the odometer still work?
2. Do you have the digital odometer, or the regular one?
3. Are you replacing the speed sensor on the tranny or the one on top of the rear differential?
Sorry but i moved to another town so i was without service for a while. The odometer is not working it is digital and i replaced the speed sensor on the tranny.
Then it sounds like your cluster blew and needs to be replaced.
If the cluster went bad, then you need a new BCM. BUT, be aware that the BCM are keyed somehow to the PCM. Not sure why. Ask a Mopar service part desk person the reason why and how to work with it.
I'm not sure where this mis-information first came from, but I've seen it posted before and I can assure you there is no Body Control Module (BCM), only the engine computer (PCM.) Also, the cluster is not matched to the PCM, the cluster can be swapped out without any concerns, programming changes, or modifications. The only real concern is the change in odometer mileage that will be recorded if you have state inspections.
Was out sick, I posted that the odometer was not working, by this i ment that it won't advance, it is on it is stuck on 269990. Im missing out on the Castrol pay out.
