Need HELP on L/O O/D sensor replacement. and band adjustments, etc.
I have partially removed the L/O O/D sensor but am having trouble getting access to the large round connector at the end of the long harness that goes up the side of the valve body. I have removed the 3 screws from the side of the piece where the plug is connected. The piece is loose but doesn't come down. There is a horizontal spring about 5/8 in diameter between the valve body and the loosened piece. Hos do I get that out.
I also took off the machined flat steel plate the the wire harness is hooked through and noticed that there is a small amount of wear on the machined face where the end of the spring contacts it.
Should I be concerned with that wear?
There is a couple of very light scratches in the bore of the of the cylinder that I took off the machined plate. The piston looks fine with corrisponding light scratches. The 2 seals on the piston have smooth surfaces. Any concerns here?
Is it best to use a click type torque wrench?
Thanks,
Trying to get this done with all the snow we got here in central NJ the past 2 weeks.

I figured out how to get the connector out. I am proceding with replacing it and the transducer and solenoid.
I am not adjusting the bands this time because I can't locate my "# torque wrench. Maybe I loaned it out? lol I will pull the pan in the Spring and adjust the bands and reevaluate the performance of the trans during the time period between now and then. My fingers can't handle the 19 degree weather here in Jackson, NJ today. Wifey wants her ride back! Can't blame her either!
I still would like any opinions on the other questions I have in the 1133am post today that you folks have.
Right now I am cleaning the parts and checking all passages in the pieces I have removed and where they attach.
I did find one shaving in the block that holds the governor transducer and solenoid. It looked like a scrape from steel, roughly 1/16" wide tapering to 1/32", maybe .020 thick and 5/16" long.
The screens on the sensors, etc. didn't appear to have visible blockage with the naked eye.
Is there a better book, other than Dodge's manual than the Haynes #30065?
It really doesn't have much info on the 2002 Ram Van transmission info. It's more geared to the earlier models.
Thanks again,
Steve Nagy

It's not my book, I have nothing to do with it's sale, I only did a search to help you find one. That disclaimer aside...I didn't find a printed factory manual for a 2005 Buick Rendezvous anywhere, but I did find a DVD version. I have no idea how good it is or isn't, that's up to you to decide or take a chance on.
