What model van? What year? What engine? You need to provide more vehicle details in order for us to help you.

I have thought about putting air bags inside my front coils but haven't done it as of yet. I used to drive a 1 ton Chevy that came from the factory with them. These vans are pretty wobbly as it is so I'm not sure higher is better.

Seeing how you have coil springs, it's either going to be spacers or have a set of stiffer coils made. Maybe ones from a 3500 are stronger and you could use those. As far as the vacuum lines, if they are rubber hoses, any auto parts stores will carry vacuum hose in assorted lengths.

agreed.

A spring shop could have various springs that could fit...but I would want to speak to someone who knows the geometry. Two inches of spring may put your ball joints in a precarious spot. The 3500 springs, I think would give you 3/4. That would probably be OK.

I would think just larger tires and lower rear end gears would accomplish the same task. You may have to massage the fenders and quarters, but that is what I would do - just thinking about it .

I know stock I have over 8 inches...that is pretty good for any regular truck.

I am curious about the lift too. Is it for leveling / appearances or is it functional? Having a broken coil spring isn't unheard of so you may want to check for that.

My van has a 4" ABS pipe drain pipe which is 5" OD under it so I only have about 4" of clearance. I plan on driving to Mexico in the future and they have giant speed bumps (Topes) so I need at least 6" of clearance. After lots of pondering I have decided I am going to put a macerator pump on the van and remove the drain pipe for that trip.

Regards, Steve

I would take it to a suspension shop to have them look at it and see what can be done cheaply.
I just went through my receipt pile and see that my B250 went from stock 3000# springs to B350 springs 5 years ago. You could go that route, on Rock Auto I see that I could go up one more step from the 4000# springs to 4450# springs. You may be able to do the same thing. I forgot the shocks go up the centre of the coils so air bags won't work.
