Default Gas recommendations?

just like like topic says ... what kind of gas do you prefer in your truck ? I run almost strictly 91 octane, I seem to get a little more power and better gas mileage but that may just be in my head. Just wondering what everyone uses .

Whatever the manufacturer recommends. Anything else is a waste of money regardless of what your "seat of the pants placebo effect" tells you.

higher octane fuels actually have less heat energy than lower octane fuels. If your engine doesn't require it or don't go higher octane. Its a waste.

stock class racers have found this out....on low compression engines, higher octane slows you down.

my bottom of the line gm truck i use 87.

my supercharged car ramps up the timing so i get 40 more hp and better fuel mileage with high octane so i use it in the car but not the truck.

buy your fuel from a top tier supplier.

My 04 hemi is happiest on Chevron 89 octane.
Burns through 91 too fast and 87 is just not enough.
My owner's manual also states 89 is the best for my year Hemi.
I also add Lucas fuel injector cleaner every 3rd tank.
Very happy motor!

I run 91 octane because I run a Superchips 91 tune. That is worth 20hp, plus a little drivability. If memory serves, I only get another 1.5mpg with it. So, it's not cost effective if the price difference is too high..if you just consider the fuel mileage.

So far I have used 13000 gallons of 87 octane E10 and never had a fueling problem. I just try to stick with reputable gas stations and avoid little dinky ones with 50 year old tanks

No 91 here, so straight 89 or a 50/50 mix of 87 and 93 from Costco or Sam's.

I run Super Unleaded on all my gas engines. My lawn mower too. Has never ran stronger.
