2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit Teased as New Law Enforcement Offering

2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit Teaser

This 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit teaser could signal the return of the traditional police sedan.

For quite a few years, law enforcement agencies around the U.S. have gravitated toward the Dodge Charger Pursuit model, which is one of very few police “cars” still available to purchase new. After all, Ford opted to kill off its entire sedan lineup in the U.S. years ago – including the Crown Victoria – replacing it with the Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility and F-150 Police Responder, while GM is keen to sell its large Tahoe to police as well. However, those departments may continue to be able to purchase at least one passenger car, as we can see from this 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit teaser.

This 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit teaser image was recently posted to the official Instagram page of Dodge Law and FCA U.S. Law Enforcement, giving it instant credibility as a model that seems quite likely to enter production. Of course, we don’t have much to go by here, save for a shadowy pic of the car’s front end, the “protect and serve” law enforcement-wrapped hood, and a few words that only serve to further pique our interest.

“Surely you didn’t think we’d forget about a legend. Stay tuned for more details, the post reads. “Concept model. Not available for purchase.” Regardless, a new 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit makes a ton of sense given the popularity that the current model has enjoyed since it launched in 2006, giving officers the ability to buy a rear-wheel-drive (or all-wheel-drive), V8-powered sedan, as opposed to a crossover or SUV.

It’s unclear what sort of powertrains might be offered in the 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit model, but it could very well be identical its the civilian counterpart in that regard – meaning both the twin turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6, as well as all-electric options. The latter would make sense given the quest many departments are on to convert to zero emissions these days, with several already purchasing non-police vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and converting them for duty. Otherwise, it would make perfect sense for the 2025 Dodge Charger Pursuit to carry on this tradition in a small but competitive and profitable segment, since it wouldn’t have much competition in that regard – at least, in terms of the style of vehicle it represents.
