Apocalypse Warlord Ram TRX 6×6 Packs 800 HP in One Wicked Package
Florida-based builder gives its wild Warlord Ram TRX 6×6 a tune, making it even crazier than it already was.
Apocalypse Manufacturing, a custom builder located in Ford Lauderdale, Florida, has made a name for itself in recent years by churning out 6×6 Jeep Wranglers and its Warlord Ram TRX 6×6, a wicked-looking machine that made what was already an extreme truck even more so. But since there’s no such thing as having too much of anything in the automotive world, those folks have gone ahead and one-upped themselves once again, this time by giving the ridiculous, over-the-top Warlord Ram TRX 6×6 a whopping 800 horsepower. Even better, it’s going up for grabs at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.
In stock form, the Ram TRX offers up 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, but Apocalypse gave this one a tune, and that’s all that was needed to extract an additional 90 ponies, bringing that total of 797. Of course, it’s nice to have that extra power given the fact that this beast of a build has been elongated for the sole purpose of adding an extra rear axle and another pair of wheels and tires.
What’s particularly cool about the Warlord Ram TRX 6×6, however, is the fact that it’s a full-time, six-wheel-drive machine thanks to its additional custom tandem axle. It rolls on bronze 20-inch SFJ wheels designed by Apocalypse, which are wrapped with 37-inch all-terrain tires, with a seventh spare mounted in the bed using a custom roll cage. The truck rolls on a custom suspension featuring six active, electric Bilstein shocks, as well as Dana 60 rear axles with lockers.
On the outside, this TRX features four high-output KC lights, a Line-X coated bed, and power sidesteps, and offers a stout 12,000-pound max towing capability. The inside has everything one might expect from a modern luxury truck, including all of the requisite safety tech, power everything, Bluetooth, navigation, four off-road modes with the ability to create custom ones, and a black and red two-tone interior.
Apocalypse says that with the TRX 6×6, its goal was, fittingly, to create the ultimate apocalypse truck, and it certainly seems to have succeeded there. The company has apparently already received offers for this wicked machine in the $300k range, so it’ll be interesting to see what it hammers for in its upcoming no reserve auction.
