Bored Canadian Man Sculpts Dodge Conquest From Snow

Car Made From Snow In Montreal

Intending to troll the snow removal team, he eventually snagged even better victims.

Kids love snow days. They go out and run around, have snowball fights, and build snowmen. As an adult, you don’t really have the same fun. Normally, you just start to feel a little claustrophobic. A 33-year-old Montreal man was probably feeling a little of the dreaded cabin fever when he decided to do an elaborate prank. Simon Laprise decided to build an entire car out of snow.

That’s right, instead of the classic snowman, Laprise decided to build a snowcar. And judging by the style of the vehicle, we think he’s probably a fan of Dodge. While he could have been inspired by the Shelby Dodge Charger, our money is on the Dodge Conquest. Sure, most people nowadays might have gone for the more modern Charger or Challenger, but you have to admire the craftsmanship that Laprise put into replicating one of the ‘80s most beloved vehicles.

Conquest vs Snowcar vs Shelby

Conquest (left) or Shelby (right)? You decide!

According to the story, Laprise was hoping to pull a prank on the snow removers that clear the streets. However, he unintentionally had other victims – the police. As you can see in the pictures, the police came by to see why this car was parked illegally in the streets. Once the police inspected the snowcar, they realized it was an elaborate prank, and they actually left a note saying, “You made our night,” with a smiley face.

Now, for those Dodge Forum readers that live in snowy climates, don’t get any ideas. While you may think your snowman skills are top-notch and should translate well to snowcar building, you should know that Laprise is a bit of a professional. He’s a machinist and woodworker, which are two skills that would translate well to the art of building snow vehicles.

Sure, the snowy Conquest isn’t the greatest replica, but the details are all there. The body design is pretty spot on, and he even went the extra mile by adding the blocky front end and trim along the side. All told, we can see why the police would think this was a real car, at first glance.

What Dodge should Laprise tackle next?
