Dodge’s New Program Will Save You Thousands On Your Next Muscle Car

By -

With savings of $10 per horsepower, the ‘Power Dollars’ cash allowance incentive makes you pay less with the more hoonage you purchase.

Dodge has really taken an interesting step forward with their latest marketing strategy. We actually don’t think that we have seen any other brand on the market pull out a similar tactic. That is what makes it so novel, it is the first of its kind. This new incentive is called “Power Dollars” and we get an explanation of how it works thanks to Dodge’s YouTube channel.

In essence, Dodge wants to stir up the market a little bit and obviously, they are no novices when it comes to making very fast cars. “Power Dollars” is based on the ideology that runs back to the original founders of the Dodge brand, the Dodge brothers, John and Horace. Dodge believes that this marketing plan is something the brother would definitely relate with. This is how it works.

Power Dollars

Starting in August 2019, any Challenger, Charger, or Durango gets a $10 discount for every horsepower the vehicle has. Definitely not the most complex concept, but definitely a very interesting one. Let’s say that you were interested in buying a 2019 Challenger R/T that comes with a stock 375 HP. This would reap you a total of $3,750 in cash discount. So, the more horsepower you get in your Dodge, the more discount there is to be had.

The biggest savings that would be available on the current market would be with the Hellcat Redeye with its boastful 797 HP, yielding a $7,970 cash discount. The entry level vehicle that still would still be eligible for such a discount would be the Charger SXT with 292 HP, enabling a $2,920 cash discount. However, not every vehicle is eligible. We are sorry, but you won’t be able to get a horsepower-based discount on a Grand Caravan minivan or Journey SUV.

While you might assume that this tactic is to clear out 2019 models and boost overall sales, you wouldn’t exactly be wrong. However, there is another motivation for Dodge. They want to put 500 million horsepower on the market before the end of 2019. Why do they want to do this? Their response: “Because we are Dodge and this is what we do”. We like that response.

The widebody Charger SRT Hellcat & Scat Pack Widebody rule the road.
