Dodge Salesman Kidnapped During Wild Ride Test Drive

Insane Dodge Challenger test drive involves guns, kidnapping, a crazy escape and ends with perps getting 15 years in prison.

We have seen no shortage of insane stories involving the iconic Dodge Challenger. Though, not many live up to the wild ride that we’re about to embark on. If somebody read you the story of this test drive turned kidnapping and told you it was the opening scene to an upcoming action movie, you’d believe it in a heartbeat. However, this is as far from fiction as it could possibly get.

According to Motor Biscuit, 22-year-old Dodge salesman Jose Martinez was working a standard day at the dealership. Not out of the ordinary; someone wanted to take a Dodge Challenger for a test drive. However, Martinez states that he immediately didn’t feel right about the whole situation.

“I knew that guy was a little sketch when I first met him. He kept on talking weird, and I thought, let’s go on a quick test drive and come back,” said Martinez.

The story goes that during the test drive, a separate car with two individuals inside it started following the Challenger. The Dodge pulled over with the suspect behind the wheel, and before he knew it, Martinez was hit. The two men from the other car, which had also pulled over, threw Martinez in the trunk of the Challenger before it proceeded to drive off once again.

Heroic actions and quick thinking

Most people in this situation would panic and not have anything to do. However, Martinez immediately pulled some wicked smart moves. Realizing he had his phone in his pocket, he did two of the smartest things one couldn’ve done at the moment. One, he called 911. Two, he turned on an app to track his phone. Talk about handling business under stress. It gets even better, though.

When the innocent and unknowing Challenger came to a stop, Martinez used the emergency trunk release button found inside the trunk (they do put them there for a reason!) only to find a gun pointed in his direction at the hands of his kidnapper. Remarkably, Martinez managed to nab the gun from the crooks and shoot one of the assailants. Mr. Martinez, if you’re reading this, we want you to know you’re a complete badass.

Every action has a consequence.

After managing to get a shot off at one of his kidnappers, they left Martinez on the side of the road with a broken nose and drove off. Though he went on to make a full recovery, you won’t find him partaking in any test drives anymore.

Unfortunately for them, his phone with the tracking app on was still in the trunk. Police followed the Challenger until it hit another car, and the perps ran in all different directions. Luckily, though, Martinez scanned the kidnapper’s ID prior to the test drive.

The name on the ID was William Gardner. One of the two assistants from the second car, William Young, received a 15-year sentence for aggravated robbery using a deadly weapon for his role in the kidnapping.

This may be the most asinine story we’ve ever heard that involves a Dodge Challenger. In fact, this has to go down as one of the wildest test drive stories in history. But, ultimately, we are glad Martinez made a full recovery and that the criminals responsible were caught.
