2019 Ram 1500 Rebel: Here’s How it May Look

New renderings reveal that the next-generation Rebel will have a look that combines muscular touches with a rugged off-roading character.

The Ram 1500 Rebel isn’t as hardcore as some of its off-roading rivals, but it offers consumers 90 percent of the same off-roading goodies, while being a little easier to live with. Boasting massive 33-inch Toyota tires, Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension, nearly nine inches of ground clearance at the front, and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under the hood, there’s not a lot of terrain that can hold the 1500 Rebel back.

Recently, we got some spy shots that revealed what the 2019 Ram 1500 would look like, and using those, we’ve come up with a few renderings of what the upcoming 1500 Rebel might look like.

While the new Ram 1500 is expected to get loads of chrome trim pieces, we expect the 1500 Rebel to stick with its no-frills black trim pieces at the front. The off-roader will incorporate the regular pickup’s hexagonal grille, but will have ‘RAM’ smack-dab right in the middle in larger letters that are hard to miss, just like the current one.

The 1500 Rebel will ditch the chrome trim pieces that sits on top of the grille for a blacked-out one, while the front bumper will be redesigned for a chunkier look. The fog lights continue with a similar shape to this year’s model. While the regular Ram 1500 is going for a more ‘grown-up’ look, there’s no messing around with the 1500 Rebel, which means that the massive front skid plate will grow in size, and is definitely here to stay.

The hood will have the same overall design as the regular lineup, but will have two large vents, as it currently does, and more muscular ridges, to hint at the massive motor lurking underneath the hood. While the 2019 Ram 1500 will see badging move to the truck’s hood, we expect ‘RAM 1500’ and ‘HEMI 5.7 LITER’ to continue to be plastered on the side of the truck. Slimmer headlights with an LED strip at the bottom of the unit are expected to be added to the front end, too.

At the side of the truck, we expect to see large fenders, black 17-inch wheels, and massive off-roading tires, which will most likely come from Toyo Tires. Moving to the back, not a lot changes over the current model. The new Ram 1500 may be getting a revised bumper, but the one on the 1500 Rebel will continue with the current model’s ‘U’ shape and massive “RAM” badge on the back. We expect the taillights to be a little different, since the more pedestrian 1500 will get new units. One major change at the back, though, is the addition of a large black piece to the tailgate that will house the “RAM” badge.

Ram 1500 Rebel

The 1500 Rebel is already an aggressive pickup that’s not afraid to get dirty, and we expect Ram to stick with the truck’s popular design, while incorporating some new touches from the upcoming Ram 1500. One thing though is for sure: The 1500 Rebel will still be a force to be reckoned with when it comes out.
