Ram Mojave Sand Warlock Looks Ready for the Dunes in Los Angeles
Ram Warlock is based on the previous generation of the half-ton truck, packing Hemi power.
The all-new Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty trucks have both won major awards, causing some people to forget that you can still buy the previous generation of the half-ton truck. This older generation truck is now called the Ram Classic and the new Warlock package is only available for the older trucks. The Warlock builds on the popularity of the older Ram 1500, adding some features of the Rebel package to a lower-priced pickup.
The result is the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. This half-ton truck is built for the casual off-roader, with the Mojave Sand package adding a list of components that enhances the sporty nature of the Warlock package. The Warlock is on display at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, presenting a rugged look for local mudding fans.
Ram Classic Warlock
The 2019 Ram Classic Warlock is a mid-level trim line, sitting between the Express and the Big Horn in terms of pricing. Unique features include the Rebel-like RAM grille in black, black wheel flares, black badging and black 20-inch wheels. There are also black front and rear bumpers, black mirrors and a black stripe on the hood, along with black Warlock decals on the bedsides.
Other than the Warlock decals, the exterior aspects of this truck are similar to the previous generation Rebel. The key difference is that this truck has milder tires and it lacks the Rebel’s performance suspension.
If you liked the look of the Rebel, but you didn’t really need the off-road tires and Bilstein suspension, the Ram Classic Warlock is a great option. It is still a competent off-road truck with the 5.7-liter Hemi and four-wheel-drive, but it has a lower price point and it is geared more towards on-road driving with the occasional trip to the beach.
Mojave Sand Package
This particular Ram Classic Warlock is outfitted with the Mojave Sand Package. This package starts on the outside with a Sport Performance Hood with a unique applique from Mopar and black door handles. On the inside, this Mojave Sand Package adds a 115-volt power point, a folding load floor, front cloth bucket seats with 10-way power control on the driver’s side, a full-length console and a 60/40 split rear folding seat.
This package also includes the light brown paint, for which the package was named.
Oddly, this truck has leather seats, which are not available on RamTrucks.com. Perhaps leather is a new option for the 2020 Warlock, making this mild off-roader even better for the daily drive.
With this Warlock being based on the previous generation of the Ram 1500, anyone who is really interested in getting one should act quickly. Ram isn’t going to offer two generations of half-ton trucks forever, and we are already on our second year of that format.
