Rhys Millen Bids Farewell to the Last Viper
Get ready for a wild ride as Pennzoil and Rhys Millen bid goodbye to the “Last Viper” with this awesome short film.
Dodge’s Viper is perhaps one of the greatest American cars to ever be built. But with production now finished and each unit accounted for, we may never see an all-American V10 supercar ever again. It was a glorious child of the times, and those times are long gone.
In an effort to give the car a proper send-off, though, Pennzoil plopped ace precision driver, racer, and drifting monster Rhys Millen into the driver’s seat and told him to do fun things. That, in and of itself, would have been enough of a tribute to the Viper. But then they filmed the ensuing shenanigans and turned it into a short film for all of us Viper enthusiasts to enjoy.

The short doesn’t really have much of a plot, but for the fact that Millen runs the ACR sideways as often as possible through the streets of Miami. Unless plot can be considered popping, cracking, and occasional flame spitting from the exhaust.
The film opens on a newspaper headline that reads “Last Viper Stolen: Owner Offering Reward.” The car in question sits at some kind of chop shop, and Millen drops in on the action like this is some kind of Mission Impossible action sequence. Then he tears off in the Dodge, evading the thieves at high speed. At the end of the video, Millen “returns” the stolen Viper to its rightful owner’s garage. However, the car is recovered in bright daylight and isn’t returned until well after sundown, so perhaps some of that rescue mission was actually just a joyride.
