Three New Mopar Concepts Debut at 2022 SEMA Show
This trio of Mopar concepts is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what we can expect from this year’s SEMA Show.
While some automakers have exited the SEMA Show completely this year, Dodge and Jeep will still have a strong presence, much to the delight of Mopar fans everywhere. After all, SEMA is the perfect venue to show off the latest wares, models, and concepts, a time each year we can mark on our calendars and look forward to seeing some pretty cool stuff. That’s once again true of the 2022 SEMA Show, where a grand total of three new Mopar concepts are set to debut – the “Electromod” Jeep CJ Surge, Ram 1500 Backcountry X, and Ram 1500 TRX Gold Shot.
In addition to showing off the latest wares from its catalog, these Mopar concepts – along with a variety of other customized vehicles on deck for SEMA – help the parts seller celebrate its 85th anniversary, a notable achievement indeed. However, the Jeep CJ Surge is more of a look toward the future, as it utilizes an all-electric powertrain with a 400-volt, 200kW Electric Drive Module and a 24 lithium-ion battery.
As one might imagine, the CJ Surge is also a true 4×4 with a two-speed transfer case, a two-inch lift, 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, matte black 18×9-inch Black Rhino Solid wheels, Jeep Performance Parts Dana 44 Crate axles at both ends, a JPP Wrangler JK Rubicon Bumper Kit, a JPP Rubicon Warn winch, Surf Blue tow hooks, JPP Rubicon skid and front-bumper plates and concept JPP rock rails. Inside and out, the CJ Surge also features a host of custom bits and pieces, along with some unique paint and graphics work.
Next up, the Ram 1500 TRX Gold Shot concept is designed to be more of a custom, high-performance toy hauler for motocross enthusiasts. In that vein, it’s equipped with custom vintage bronze 18×9.5-inch Black Rhino Chamber wheels wrapped with 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, a Mopar bed step, a RamBar with 14-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights, custom metal skid plates, rock rails, and 5-inch black Mopar exhaust tips, while gold accents help justify the truck’s nickname.
This trio of Mopar concepts is capped off by the Ram 1500 Backcountry X, which is designed to support both work and play in one singular vehicle. It achieves that with a RamBox cargo management system fitted with custom-designed RamPack and RamRack features designed to increase cargo space, 2-inch TYRI LED lights, a custom Mopar RamGate task-bench insert, a Mopar 2-inch lift kit with FOX shocks, matte-black 20×9-inch Fuel Heater wheels wrapped with 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, a Mopar tubular grille guard, four Mopar 5-inch LED off-road lights, black-painted Mopar tube steps, and custom accents inside and out.
