Coolant/Temperature problems in my neon. Need Help!!

You might as well flush everything out, yes. Both the flush and thermostat replacement is easy, but I am not sure what a shop would charge... I have always done those things in my driveway. I would guess it would be less than $100 for a shop to do both of those things for you.

bro cool your car off and empty your radiador then just open the cap and take a hose and let water run through it...just make sure your car is cool.then empty your resivar(or whatever) and refill...thats my way of a flush

After draining, I would recommend filling it up completely with just water, or better yet water with a bottle of flush treatment. Run the car for a bit until it come sup to temperature, adding water as needed to push the air out of the system. That way, you are gaurenteed that the water/flush treatment gets up to all the little crevices in the top and the bottom of the motor to make sure that no old coolant or deposits have been left behind.

In other words, just pushing water in to the top of the fill cap and letting it drain out the bottom may not completely get everything out. I prefer both a closed and open loop recirc while the car is running to gaurentee that I got everything. Then drain again, re-do and add your new coolant mixture.

Ok so today after a lil driving i decided to just pop the hood and check out my coolant reservoir to make sure my level was still ok. After peeping around a lil bit. I noticed wetness in front of my engine under the manifold if you will. Looks like it may be leaking where the coolant hose fittings are or maybe there are small cracks in the line that i can't see as well. As long as im not leaking near an expensive gasket I hope i can find it. So I will prolly just switch out my thermostat and replace the hose and the fittings. any ideas on how much this will take outta my pocket??

If you do it all yourself, I would say 50 bucks or less.
